Adjusting the Tempo

Top  Previous  Next

The tempo of a song determines how fast or slow the song plays.  The tempo is defined in terms of beats per minute (bpm).

The Player mode allows changing the tempo while the song is playing (method 1) or setting it when no song is playing (method2).

Method 1 -

Adjusting the tempo while playing the song

1441_1 or 1441_2

Start playing the song with either of the play buttons.

1454_1

Use the left 1454_3 and 1454_4 right tempo buttons to adjust the tempo.  The result is displayed next to the buttons.  The song will pick up speed or slow down depending on what you do.

Method 2 -

manually set the desired tempo

1454_2

Use the edit control 1454_6 to enter a value between 30 and 480, then click on the set 1454_5 button.

In real life tempos vary in the 40 - 208 range.  The high values possible in FastChords are just for fun.
