FastChords uses an online product activation process to activate the software.  Therefore you will need to be connected to the internet in order to register the software.

Immediately upon purchasing a license -- which entitles you to register the software for at most two machines -- you'll receive a temporary registration key.   Click on the "register" button in the welcome screen to enter the registration key.

The activation process sends to our servers an encrypted version of your registration key along with a hardware fingerprint of the machine the program is being activated for.

No personal information, not even your name, is transmitted during the activation process.

Following the 7 days of the "satisfaction or money back" period, you will receive a permanent registration key.  Use the Register menu option in the Help menu to enter this new key.  Again, you will need to be online to complete this process.

There is no way other than the one described here to activate the software.  It is not possible to activate the software without  being connected to the web.

This requirement, however, only takes place during product activation.  After your software is activated, you do not need to be online to work with the program.
