Preparing the Written Music

Before working with the chords of a song, it is a good idea to number them.  Eventually you will be printing the table of chords compiled by FastChords, and being able to refer to a chord number helps locating your position in the song.

 

The following song is written in lead Sheet style, just the chords and melody line.  Notice all chords have been numbered:

The Melody Mode also allow entering melody lines in addition to the chords.  And as of version 3.0 of FastChords you can also enter the rhythmic values (notes and rests duration) and play the songs with correct timing in Player Mode.  See Entering Melodies and Entering Rhythmic Values for Notes for more details.  See also The Best Way to Enter Full Songs
