Printing the Chord Table

Use the File > Print menu command to print the chord table.  There are actually three printing styles (see next section).

Print Normal - prints all chords in the chords table in the same way.  The maximum number of chords per page is usually 15.  This format is the easiest to read.

Print Condensed - prints "chords" consisting of just a melody note in condensed format.  The maximum number of chords per page varies depending of the number of melody notes, but it is usually double the print normal option.

Print Chords Only - ignores all melody notes.  Prints only the chords of the song, usually 15 chords per page.

The following print dialog appears:

(In the above example we are asking to print only odd numbered pages -- 1,3,5,7).

Sometimes printing only some pages or printing on both sides of the page is desired.  In that case select the Page(s) radio button and identify the pages to be printed as shown in the illustration.  The program will figure out which chords to print given the number of chords that can be printed on one page for your particular printer and page size.

Depending on your  preferences settings, you have the option of printing all the chord notes or skipping the  optional notes (see What are optional notes?),  and whether or not to print the tied melody notes (see Special Case: Ties).  The concept of Ties applies to music rhythmic notation.  Rhythm is set using FastChords' Player mode (see Working with the Player).

The printing options in the preference dialog look like this:

The default preference setting when first installing the program is printing all chord notes and printing tied  notes.  This default setting can be changed in the Preferences dialog.  Preferences are "remembered" by the program the next time it starts.
