Saving / Loading Recorded Midi

Midi recordings are saved to disk at the same time as the .crd song file.

When you ask to save a song, actually two files are saved to disk:

1)  a .crd file containing the chords and melody lines of the chord table.

2) a .crm file containing the recorded midi messages.

Both components can be loaded back from disk just by specifying the name of the .crd file.

The .crm (midi) file can be manually erased from disk, and the .crd (song) file remains a valid FastChords file.  The opposite however is not true.  A midi component file can not be loaded back from disk by itself.  (If you accidentally erase the song file, simply save an empty song and rename the midi component  file to the same name as the empty song file.

The .crm (midi) component file is not a standard midi file.  It cannot be loaded into other programs.
