The View menu has three options to view specific elements in the chord table:

Chords Only - shows only the chords proper.  "Chords" consisting of melody notes only are not displayed.

Melody Only - shows only "chords" that contain a melody note. 

Chords and Melody - shows all chords

The format of chord numbers in the chord table changes when viewing only chords or melody notes.  The first part shows the sequential chord number (1,2,3,...) the second part shows the chord number of the chord in the complete table (i.e. the one showing chords and melody notes)

Many commands, such as optimize, do not work when viewing only chords or only melody notes.  But the view showing only chords (or melody notes) can be saved as a separate song file -- with a different file name -- which when loaded would have those commands enabled.
