Changing Modes

Top  Previous  Next

FastChords has three modes accessible from the mode switch button: the Chords mode, the Table mode and the Melody  mode.  The other two modes, the Player and the Midi modes aree accessible from the menu and from the goto player button.  This section discusses the mode switch button.

So far we've been working in Chords mode.  Every mode is like another calculator.  This is how they look:

In each mode, the button at the upper left corner, the one with the double arrows, is the mode switch button.  Clicking on it with the left mouse button switches to another mode, and the mode it switches to is the one written on the button.  Since from any mode it is possible to switch to any of the other two modes, how is this done?

By using the right mouse button.  Every time you right click on the button, the label on the button changes to one of the two possible modes you could switch from your current mode.  Then left clicking on the button (i.e. clicking with the left mouse button)  switches to that mode.   Here is a picture of this mechanism:

The program "remembers" from where a mode is switched to.   Once you switch to a mode with the mode switch button, the label of the switch button of the new mode is set to the name of the mode you switched from.  The program will return to that mode with a simple left click on the switch button.
