The tempo determines how fast or slow the midi recording plays. The tempo is defined in terms of beats per minute (bpm).

You can change the tempo while the song is playing (method 1) or when no song is playing (method 2).

Method 1 -

Adjusting the tempo while playing the song

Start playing the song, click on the play button.

Use the left and right tempo buttons to adjust the tempo. The result is displayed next to the buttons. The song will pick up speed or slow down depending on what you do.

Method 2 -

manually set the desired tempo

In real life tempos vary in the 40 - 208 range. The high values possible in FastChords are just for fun.

Use the edit control to enter a value between 30 and 480, then click on the set button.
