Direct Input is the process of entering chords (and notes) in the chord table by using the piano (or keyboard) connected to the computer. This is done by capturing the state of the screen keyboard at constant time interval controlled by FastChords' metronome.
Every two metronome beats the program compares the current state of the piano keyboard, if it has not changed from the last time it was checked, then it is added to the chord table.

To do direct input, follow these steps:
1) Select the midi IN device.

2) Start the device by clicking on the record button once.

4) Place your fingers on the piano (midi instrument) in the desired position and wait until you see the chord added to the chord table. Then lift your hand from the keyboard, or at least change one note.
To stop direct input, click on the button again.
